The Blue Ridge Women’s Chorale is a vocal ensemble of experienced, skilled, passionate musicians, dedicated to the performance of high-quality, diverse treble choral repertoire, and to supporting the community through its music.
Our goals:
• Performance of treble choral literature from a variety of genres, both traditional and contemporary, (including both sacred and secular)
• Performance of culturally, socially, and ethnically diverse choral literature that raises awareness of relevant social issues
• Recruitment of membership that is diverse in culture, age, race, belief, and sexual identity
• Offering performances in support of local charities
• Offering educational programs which promote treble choral singing at all ages

BRWC not only celebrates the individual artistry of its singers but also fosters a sense of unity among women who share a love of singing. Join us in our mission to inspire others and enrich lives through the power of song.
We are looking for singers with the following qualifications:
• Experience as a choral singer
• Strong music fundamentals, sight-reading ability and understanding of basic vocal technique
• The ability and willingness to learn and practice the literature on one’s own in addition to a commitment to participating in scheduled rehearsals
• The desire to perform a wide range of music
• The ability and willingness to sometimes sing in languages other than English
• A willingness to be part of a community of singers and to support and respect the ensemble as a whole
• A commitment that this choir will strive to perform at a professional level
• A commitment that this choir will strive to serve the community through it’s performances
• An agreement that membership includes nominal dues to support the purchase of music and other logistical costs
• A degree in music and/or private vocal lessons are NOT prerequisites for membership
